SAN FRANCISCO—Fairchild Semiconductor Corp. plans to lay off employees from the company's fab in South Portland, Maine, according to reports.
A Fairchild spokesperson confirmed that the company plans to make job cuts but did not provide the number of employees that would be laid off, according to a report by The Portland Press Herald. The spokesperson said the layoffs would be confined to manufacturing jobs in the Maine fab, according to the report.
